Today, I’m doing another what to wear post – what to wear to a holiday party. There are so many cute ideas in stores right now. It was hard to stop at just the looks featured here, but I think you’ll love them!
The trends in formal or cocktail attire this year are metallic, velvet, and silk or similar silk fabrics. You see sequins everywhere and gorgeous lux velvet dresses. Of course, you can find so much more. However, I’m leaning into some of the trends with these what to wear to a holiday party outfits.
Formal Holiday Party Attire
This beautiful classic red dress stopped my scroll immediately! I love the clean lines and sophisticated look. I kept the accessories simple and elegant. Plus, I added a great classic black coat to wear outdoors. This look is from Ann Taylor and comes in petite and regular sizes.
Next, I had to build an outfit around this fun sequin skirt! I love pairing it with a simple cream or white sweater, but you could really add any color. I included a splurge sweater option and a budget-friendly sweater option too.
Although this pretty cocktail dress looks on the shorter side, it probably comes down longer if you are petite. The statement shoes and similar handbag add a fun touch to this look.
In the fashion board above, all these dresses and bags are from Amazon. While I can’t speak to the quality of the velvet dresses, I’m considering ordering them to try myself. The navy-blue wrap style dress is very similar to this dress I styled in this post. It was comfortable, and I really liked it! It did wear more like a maxi length dress on me, but you could dress this one up or down.
I included different colors here to say you don’t have to wear just green or red to a holiday party. All the dresses above have great color options.
Casual Holiday Party Attire
With these looks, we are getting more casual while still looking festive. I don’t have many holiday parties to attend at the moment. However, I’m trying to think up an excuse to order the metallic jeans above! Definitely click over to check them out on the website. My graphic probably doesn’t do them justice. They also come in a darker metallic bronze as well.
I paired them with a simple red sweater, but you could pair them with any color you like. They also go well with most any shoe. I just think they look so fun to wear. They are well stocked in both petite and regular sizes.
This next look is from Talbot’s. Along with the embellished sweater, the accessories are what make this outfit so cute for a casual party. The adorable little hat also comes with a matching scarf – such a great gift idea too.
My last outfit is the most casual and simple. Simple doesn’t mean boring though! This wrapped gift sweater is such a cute and classy Christmas sweater. I love the idea of matching a green or red handbag to the holly leaves in the sweater.
