Today, I have a really fun post to share with you ladies! Are any of you struggling with what to wear to a Christmas party coming up soon? How about coming up with outfit ideas for what to wear to a special church program, office Christmas party, or any holiday event that calls for festive attire? Then, you are in luck! My friend Kristin from My Southern Charm Style and I are sharing two different holiday looks that will work well for multiple events.
I was so thrilled when Kristin reached out to me to collaborate on a post about what to wear to a Christmas party! I first started following Kristin on Instagram. She has such great style! Then, I learned she has a fantastic blog too featuring fashion, beauty, decorating, and recipes – yum! She is also an animal lover and has 4 dogs. Y’all be sure to stop in and say hi to Kristin next so you can check out her beautiful outfit.
As for my look, I decided to go with an elevated casual look – at least that is what I’m calling it. Ha! I also wanted to wear something that is suitable for the weather right now where I live – it’s cold and occasionally we get a little snow around Christmastime.
This plush chenille sweater is so soft and warm! I love the Merlot color too. It’s a great color at Christmas if you want to do something different than a traditional red.
My skinny pants are a black velvet. I am such a huge fan of velvet too. I have loved it ever since I was young. I am wearing these pants in a petite, but I had to size up. I find that I have to do that with most fitted velvet items. The great thing about these pants is that they have a stretchy waistband.
These pants are super comfortable and warm for a chilly evening.
I also tried on these velvet leggings too – I liked them so much too but could not get the waist to length ratio right for me. If you are taller, they will probably work great for you.

I’m also wearing my tall black boots and carrying my black clutch – both are closet staples! I can’t link to these anymore, but I think these shorter suede boots or these longer suede boots would look great with this outfit too.
I kept my jewelry simple. Lately, I’ve been loving dainty small pieces. I wear this necklace .all .the .time. I think it would make a great gift if you’re recipient likes small petite pieces.
My lifestyle is pretty casual – I don’t attend a lot of formal events even during the holidays. The great thing about velvet pants is you can dress them up with heels or down as I have with boots. They are a great closet staple for winter!
Now, don’t forget to check out Kristin’s holiday look! If you came over from her blog, welcome! I am so glad you are here. Besides fashion, I also post about beauty and try to leave an encouraging devotional at the end of my posts. I typically post around 3 days a week. I would love for you to subscribe below! That is the best way to keep up with new blog updates. I would also love for you to check out my Instagram and Facebook pages too!
