Happy Friday ladies! Today, I have a very special post to share with all of you! My friend Kay who blogs at Dressed For My Day and I are styling what to wear on the 4th of July. I will leave a link to Kay’s blog at the end of this post, so you can check out all the details of what she’s wearing too.
Can y’all believe the 4th is only in a couple of weeks?! If you have any special plans, which I hope you do, then, we have you covered in the style department with two different looks!
The star of my 4th of July outfit is a cute Navy Blue Star Top (pun definitely intended).
This navy blue background has a slight tie dye look that is trendy right now. I think you could wear this top anytime it’s warm outside too – not just on a patriotic holiday.
My look ended up being a little dressier with the shoes I chose to wear. Isn’t it amazing the difference shoes make?! Of course, you still could wear this to any informal barbecue, hanging out poolside, or seeing a fireworks show.
My sandals are older Charleston Shoe Company Shoes. I find their shoes not only stylish but also very comfortable for walking. To change up the look and give it a little more casual vibe, this outfit could easily be paired with Flip Flops, Espadrilles, Slides, Sneakers, or any great Walking Sandal.
I’m taking time to enjoy all the summer blooms!
This Top hangs long and flares out slightly at the bottom. It would look great untucked with white jeans. I decided to tuck the front in my White Shorts and let it hang out in back.

This holiday has always been very special to me but for more than the obvious reasons! Of course, I am so thankful to live here in the U.S. and for all the freedoms we enjoy.
The 4th of July is also the anniversary of when I started dating my husband. It will be 30 years this year since that official date so long ago! I guess you could say there were not only fireworks going off in the sky that day!
Next, I decided to do a little something different in this post. I thought it would be fun to share an appetizer recipe too. What’s a 4th of July celebration without good food?! This recipe comes from our dear friends Scott and Connie with whom we’ve celebrated several 4th of July holidays on the lake.
Avocado Dip
4-5 Avocados, cut into cubes
2-3 Roma Tomatoes, chopped
1/2 Cup Red Onion, minced fine
1 Jalapeno Pepper, minced fine
1/4 Cup Cilantro, chopped
Juice of 1 Lime
Mix all of the above ingredients together, and serve right away with your favorite chips. You can also add a little salt to taste and use whatever tomato is your favorite. More peppers can be added if you like it hot, or you can leave them out altogether. I pretty much estimated how much of each ingredient to use since I don’t measure it all out. Obviously, you’ll have more avocados than anything else since they are the star (insert wink emoji here) of this recipe.
Now, be sure to check out Kay’s 4th of July look at Dressed For My Day! She is a sweet lady with an elegant classic style and has a wonderful blog with a faith message at the end of her posts too.
