Today, I’m doing a Throwback Thursday post with this color block cardigan. My pictures today are new, but this outfit and cardigan are not. Madewell brings out a color block cardigan every year for fall. I’m wearing last year’s version. However, you can still get this year’s cardigan that’s fully stocked.
I’m going to let you in on a little secret concerning some of the fall fashions we’ve been seeing this year. It’s also what inspired me to write this post.
The secret is that I’m not really all that thrilled with them. There, I said it! I guess my secret is not much of a secret anymore! It’s not that I can’t find things that I like to wear or want to share here on the blog. But I seem to find more out there this year that I just don’t love.
When seasons like this happen, I tend to concentrate on updating my closet basics or essentials if I want something new. I also tend to wear more classic styles which I’m gravitating more towards these days anyway. And I keep wearing what I loved from last year which is what I always do if it’s in good shape and not terribly dated.
This cardigan is one of those things I’ve loved wearing. And you can still find this year’s version here at Nordstrom Rack.
I think it’s super soft, which you know I’m all about comfort with anything I wear! Plus, it’s a fun change from all the solid color sweaters I usually wear. I’m wearing a small in this cardigan as it does run big.
I usually wear it over a top that’s white, black, or one of the other colors found in a block. But you could wear it over a coordinating color! It also looks good with pants as well as jeans.
If you are a cardigan loving gal like me, I’ve linked more Madewell options down below.
So, tell me what you think about this fall’s fashions. Is there anything you’re loving or not?

Dear Friends, since God so loved us, we ought to love one another.

Thank you for posting that you don’t really love any of the new styles. It always takes me a couple years to adjust to new trends, and often I just never like them. What great advice to take this opportunity to replace basic wardrobe staples since I don’t want to add in trends.
I am the same – it takes me a little bit to get adjusted. I just got used to wearing straight legged jeans, and now I’m trying out flares/bootcut to see if I can find any I like! But this year, it’s more than just new jean styles. There’s just not a lot out there that I am excited about.
