Today, I am talking about the shoe trend for summer – slide sandals! I love a good slide sandal. I probably like it more than anything for the convenience of it – just slip them on and go. Ha! Seriously, shoes are the last thing I put on before leaving the house, often times with a load of stuff in my hands!
I know some ladies find it hard to find slides that stay on their feet, and I get that. I’ve had that problem a couple of times. I think the key is getting a snug but comfortable fit. Also, a small heel or wedge style helps your foot stay in the shoe much better.
It’s also good to have a supportive footbed. I notice many of the styles out now are very flat. Like anything, it’s very hard to tell what will work until you try it. Here are some I would try.
- Madewell Black & White Slide – I have not tried these but aren’t they cute! While I love all my picks, I think these would be such a versatile closet addition.
- Kensie Slide – I love the rivet detail.
- Karl Lagerfeld Slide – This one is a little dressier.
- Lucky Brand Slide – That wedge should help it stay on your foot.
- Seychelles Slide Sandal – This is such a cute white option. It also comes in black and some other color choices.
- Sam Edelman Granada Slide – I love the unique buckle detail on this one.
- Crown Vintage Slide – Here is another unique style!
- Sole Society Slide – This is another great neutral option but with a single gold strap that takes it up a notch.
- Sam Edelman Cutout Slide – This is the best deal! This blush slide is only $32.23. I tried on an almost identical version of this shoe last year and thought it was comfortable. It also comes in other colors including black and white, but the price jumps to $99! I think the blush would work as a neutral and go with most other colors.
- Glennia Slide Sandal – These are also marked down from over $100.
I love slide sandals! I stand mostly at work so I tend to wear Clark’s, SAS, and similar ‘support’ shoes but they do have cute slide sandals. I kick my shoes off when in my or anyone else’s home and also when I’m at my desk or on the floor ( I am a retired elementary teacher and now an assistant librarian working with young children…I also teach Sunday School to 4-5-6 year olds so, I’m on the floor a lot!). You posted several pair of sandals that I may look into…I need to purge my shoes as it is definitely sandal weather here in the south. I need to prepare for when quarantine is over and we open the library and church again. Right now, I’m going barefoot except when I go essential grocery shopping and check on my dad-then it’s just flip-flops. I’m wearing sneakers for walking and yard work. I have to say, I do have a much more simplified life during this quarantine-two pair of flip-flops and two pair of sneakers right now! Lol! I do enjoy your posts on fashion, devotions, and lifestyle even though I don’t comment very often. Thank you!
Thanks for your comments! I am so glad you enjoy reading! I go barefoot at home too. I used to wear Clark’s almost exclusively. They make great comfortable shoes! I also like comfortable flip-flops too for quick trips out of the house. I almost included a few pairs as you just slide them on your foot. I may have to do a post just on them.
