Spring shoe trends are starting to go in a different direction compared to the last few years. Flat slide sandals have dominated previous seasons, and they are definitely still around. So if you love that style, keep wearing them! However, this spring, I think we are headed back to chunky, heavier style shoes. I’m sure it’s to balance out the wide leg jean and pants trend. But this style will work with narrower jean silhouettes, dresses, and shorts too.
As far as heel types, it seems to be all over the map from tiny kitten heels to platform styles. So, there is something for everyone. Yay!
I thought it would be interesting to add the older picture above to this post’s leading graphic. It’s from spring 2019! Notice the straight leg cuffed jeans (now back again this spring) I’m wearing along with the cork wedge heels. I’m starting to see more cork wedge heels again. So, I’m glad I kept the shoes above in the back of my closet. I always got so many compliments on them.
Espadrilles are becoming more popular again too – not that this style went away completely by any means!
Let’s first begin with slingback sandals which were one of my 5 spring trends to look for in my last post. Most of the spring shoes here are on the casual side, and you’ll see lots of overlap in trends on these shoes.
Slingbacks
The first two slingbacks above were in my local Dillard’s store and are really cute in person. This Born Sylvie Slingback Sandal comes in multiple color combinations, and you can find them at Nordstrom too.

Espadrilles & Platforms
I wanted to add a classic espadrille sandal with a medium to low heel to my closet last year, and this is definitely the year to do it! I love wedge sandals because it’s easier to walk in that style of heel and more stable.

Knot Details
I talked about knot details being a spring trend. They also add interest to otherwise basic shoes.

Denim
Finally, we can’t ignore the denim trend in footwear which I think looks so cute with cropped ankle length jeans for spring.

We worn these styles back in the 80′ and 90′. Nothing new on this earth the God has made..
