Hello! Today, I’ve have my spring 2020 fashion trends post to share! These are always fun posts to do as we get to look ahead to a new season! As always, some of the trends are really out there for my personal taste, and other trends are quite wearable for my everyday lifestyle. I’ll be sharing which ones I will probably wear and the ones I definitely won’t too!
Trends are certainly all a matter of one’s personal preferences, so the ones I may like you may not and vice versa – and that is certainly good and okay. Also if you are a strictly classic style dresser, there is still lots to be gained by looking at current trends. Most of the time, there is a classic style or two that is trending each season. Plus, you can always add current color styles and silhouettes to your classic wardrobe to keep it from looking outdated.
So, here are some of the women’s trends I’ve found for spring 2020.
Neon Colors – Well, this one is I seem to remember from last year’s list. Ha! While I have worn some pretty bright pinks. I am not particularly a fan of many of the really glaring neon colors.
On the other hand, Tie-Dye fabrics are trending again as well as Ombre patterns. These two I can see myself wearing more depending on the pattern and color choice.
Polka Dots – This one I love, and it is a classic.
Bra Tops – Oh wow! This is an interesting one. I have done a post on wearing a bralette, but this bra top trend takes it to a whole new level. It is exactly how it sounds. Your bra is literally your top. A lot of what I’m seeing is an open blazer with just a bra on underneath. It’s no question I’ll pass on this one!
Bermuda Shorts – This is another interesting trend as I’m seeing these long shorts paired with blazers. It’s basically a suit with bermuda shorts instead of pants. I really couldn’t imagine wearing this type of suit in a really formal work environment.
On the other hand, I wonder if it is just an indication that bermuda style shorts in general will become popular again for women. If so, I have worn this style in the past but don’t know that it is the most flattering short style for me.
Rose Prints – I’ve read that specifically rose patterns would be a trend but don’t see a lot of this in the stores. So, who knows? What I do see is lots of Florals which is typical every spring. I can most definitely get on board with this one each spring whether the floral is a true rose or not.
Crochet – This is another trend I remember from 2019, and I could not find anything much in this category. Instead, I’m seeing a lot of Eyelet Tops. I do like the delicate and feminine look of eyelet if it is placed right – no see through where you don’t want to be seen.
Animals Prints – Okay, this is not new, but it is still big for spring. Plus, you probably already know I’m a fan of animal prints too.
Cropped Jeans – I would definitely add a cropped or ankle length jean to my wardrobe for spring. In fact, I have a couple of older jeans in great shape that are either straight or flared that I plan on cutting the hem to get my perfect cropped length. Yes, raw edges and distressed denim are still popular. Skinny jeans are still in style, but wider legs are also.
Big Bags – How funny that just last year it was all about the tiny bags?! With handbags, I always choose something that is practical and appropriately sized for me.
Of course, this shoe gal could not leave shoes out of a discussion on spring fashion trends. Here are a few things I’m noticing.
Pointed Toe Flats – There are still many rounded and square toed flats out there which I would still wear – and may be more practical for us with wider feet. Yet, pointed toe flats seem to be the trend for the season.
Interestingly enough, it looks like square toe sandals are going to be trendy this year.
Transparent Sandals – These came on the scene last year, and I wasn’t so sure I was crazy about this style. But a girl can change her mind, can’t she?! These sandals are so cute! I may have to try this trend out!
