Button down shirts have been popular for several years now. This spring it’s no different! Normally, I don’t wear many button down style shirts, okay, maybe none. However, when I tried on this cheery green button down, I was in love! It’s very soft, and the fit is wonderful.
This shirt is oversized, and I’m wearing a regular size medium. It does come in petite sizes too, but the regular works for me. The slightly oversized fit also gives you lots of styling options which I’m sharing today.
First, I thought I would do a front one side tucked in and the other side left out. While this may not be for everyone, I think it’s a cute look.
I can’t find my exact pair of Kut From The Kloth jeans, but you can find this brand at Nordstrom, Evereve, and Zappos. They are good quality jeans at a lower price point.
Next, oversized button down shirts are great for knotting at the waist. Knots are a fun easy style trend to wear this spring.
I like that you can dress this shirt up during the week or wear it casually on the weekend. I’m wearing it above with my favorite white jeans and braided sandals. These sandals are very affordable and comfortable. I also added my black Kate Spade crossbody – get a similar style bag here. Kate Spade Outlet is a great place to buy quality handbags at a discount.
Next, I’m styling this button down shirt with jean shorts and a similar white tee. It makes a great light layer over any outfit when it’s chilly.
The brown crossbody I added above is a great small affordable handbag. It has three compartments for the essentials along with a couple of cardholders. The long straps on this crossbody purse also detach. It comes with an extra wrist strap, so you can carry it several ways.
I love my pearl studded sandals for spring and summer. And these sandals are identical to mine!
Last, you can just do a full tuck with this button down shirt as I did below. Adding a belt would finish the look. I didn’t think to add one as this is probably the way I will wear this shirt the least. Instead, I will probably wear it untucked hanging straight down. I don’t know why I didn’t capture a picture of it that way??
I thought about taking a photo with it paired with leggings which is another great way to wear this shirt. This button down shirt could double as a swimsuit coverup too. It also comes in classic white, and I’m tempted to grab it in that color as well. As you can see, it’s a great spring closet staple.
