You’ve heard this phrase or seen motivational plaques that say, She Came… She Saw…. She Conquered. While I appreciate the adaptation of this inspiring sentiment as it refers to the courage and fierceness of women, lately, I keep thinking of something different. What if we take this a step further and opposite of worldly views by saying She Came… She Saw… She Submitted to Christ.
I’m certainly for women believing in their confidence, ability, and empowerment to do hard things. However, the times I actually feel most empowered as a woman are when I depend on God’s strength and unmatched power. While there are times when I like to believe that I can handle anything that comes my way, there are plenty more times when I just can’t. Men and women alike certainly can’t do everything in our own strength or solve every problem. Sometimes, life’s challenges can be pretty overwhelming, and we just need the Lord.
As it turns out, we really need His strength every day, even when we think we’ve got this. He wants us to submit to Him all things in our daily lives, and if I’m being honest, there are many situations or days where I forget to do this. Looking back, I can truly see a difference in how much better the outcome is when I do remember to submit my day to God than when I don’t, even in ordinary circumstances.
Submitting to Him doesn’t mean the challenge won’t be hard or the problem won’t be solved right away, but I think it does make a difference in how we respond to it. I definitely have more peace, more resolve, more patience, and I feel more empowered knowing I’ve given it to Him! So, be encouraged today to seek Christ and submit everything to Him, from small problems to big challenges to the things you believe you can fully handle. He sees what we can’t always see, and it’s only through Christ’s strength that we can truly conquer all things.
