Today, I’m reviewing two powder blushes I’ve been wearing the last few months. Both of these blushes are good drugstore brands, and I’m very picky about my blush products.
I’ve dealt with a lot of redness on my cheeks over my lifetime. While makeup covers it up quite a bit, I’ve always had a rosy glow coming through. In fact, I skipped wearing blush altogether in my younger days!
As treatments for red sensitive skin have gotten a little better over the years (I have Rosacea) and I’ve gotten older, my ruddy complexion has faded a lot. As a result, applying blush is now part of my makeup routine, but it can be tricky to picking the right color.
I have days where I still get naturally flushed or red more than others, and it can come and go at any time! Not only does the blush color have to be right, it also can be tricky in applying the right amount.
The first blush I’ve been using is this Milani powdered blush. It comes in several color choices, and this one is the tea rose color. It looks more coral in this picture but is not. It is definitely more of a rose color as I can’t wear peach colored blushes with my red skin!
I had my doubts about this color choice for my skin when I first bought it. The Milani blush colors are all very soft, natural colors. Yet somehow, this color blends in pretty well with my ruddy skin when I’m flushed.
The Milani blushes are very pigmented and feel like a higher end blush. I also think they wear well throughout the day. Plus for the price, this product is such a great value! Even though I’ve worn it multiple times, it hardly looks like it. This blush will last forever!
The next powdered blush I’ve been wearing is from Revlon. This bright shade is typically the type of color I pick out to match my ruddy complexion. I can’t find my exact rose shade online, but there are still lots of colors available to choose.
The great thing about this blush is that it is very highly pigmented. I have to be careful and apply this with a very light hand!
I tend to go for brighter highly pigmented colors though, because I am so used to having bright red cheeks! Haha!
You can’t go wrong with either of these products. However, I’ve been trying to get used to something more subtle for everyday, and the Milani color seems to blend well. So, I’m using the Milani blush the most. Plus, the Milani blushes have a slight edge over Revlon in how they apply and feel on my skin.
Each of these products can be found at various retailers, so I listed various places to shop for these blushes below.
