Perfect Moto Jacket

Jackets are difficult for me. I am very picky about my jackets! I probably buy them too large though, because I want to be able to layer thicker sweaters under them. So, sizing can be tricky between that and having a curvy upper body. I often run in between regular and petite sizes.

Plus, if I am going to spend extra for a nice jacket or coat, I want it to be very versatile so I can get the most for my money out of it. This is the perfect moto jacket, because it meets all the requirements and fills a hole in my closet.

Before we go further, let me pause briefly here to say please excuse some of the spots you may notice in my photos. I was trying to get this post out quickly and didn’t realize my camera lens needs cleaning. Also, this jacket is a dark black as pictured on the website. I took these pictures late in the day and was trying to minimize all the shadows. I’m not loving the time change! However, you do see the jacket details better with it lightened up.

Most reviewers of this moto jacket say it runs big. However, I took a risk and bought it in a regular large size. I think it works for me so I can layer sweaters under it comfortably.

While most moto jackets come in leather or suede, I like that this is a polyester rayon blend. That way I don’t have to worry about wearing it out in the rain. If you are wondering, it’s also machine washable on gentle, though I have not washed mine yet.

This jacket is lined, and the quality is good as expected from Ann Taylor. In the regular, the sleeves are a bit long on me (you can easily roll them up). However, I don’t mind that when it’s cold. Plus, the fact that I can wear something thicker underneath without it feeling too tight is more important to me. You can always size down if you want a more fitted look.

For this look, I’m wearing this winter white blouse also from Ann Taylor. My cross necklace is not currently available, but this necklace is similar.
