This week is a big week for shoppers, bloggers, and anyone looking for a great deal on fall fashions. Yes, I really said fall. Trust me when I say I don’t even want to think about it yet!! It’s just that Nordstrom has their big sale on new fall items in July. You may be excited about it or could care less about it. You also may be tired of seeing every blogger post about it if you follow lots of blogs. I get both sides of it. Read on to get my thoughts and opinions.

I honestly was unaware of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale before I started blogging! I never shopped at Nordstrom, because I don’t live very close to one. Also, I thought they were out of my price range! I’ve since learned that I can find good deals there, and I love that they have free shipping/returns all the time. They also have a generous return window.
I went ahead and got a Nordstrom Rewards Credit Card last Christmas. If you are good at keeping your spending within budget, signing up for their credit card does get you an initial $40 worth of rewards points to spend on purchases. That is a pretty nice discount. Also if you shop at Nordstrom a lot, you get reward points with purchases towards more $20 spending notes. The other big thing about getting a rewards credit card is that you get early access to the sale starting tomorrow. The sale opens to everyone else July 20, and a lot of things sell out fast. Some get restocked and others don’t.
Understand that I don’t condone having a lot of credit cards. Each of us has to decide what is best for our particular situation depending on how disciplined we are with our spending. I want to help you find the best products for the best prices, sales, and discounts. The whole point is to get the most for our spending dollars, and you can still sign up for a rewards card that is not a credit card.
I understand why many ladies and bloggers love this sale. Of course, many of us (bloggers especially) that love fashion are always looking ahead/preparing for the next season and what will be in style. Bloggers also spend a lot more on clothing than the average person since this is their business. They also want to get good deals and pass them along to their readers. Even though I am a blogger and love fashion, I have a hard time looking ahead at this time of year. I just love summer and want the warmer weather to stick around as long as possible! LOL
Nonetheless, I am curious as to what fall fashions will be up on their website tomorrow. Plus, I want to help all of you find the best deals too!! There will be some summer fashion included in the sale also. If you plan to shop, remember fall can be warm (at least I hope it is – ha!). I am having to remind myself of that as I look ahead. I plan to transition a lot of my summer things into fall. I also continue to wear open toe shoes with jeans and even long sleeves until it gets too cool.
So whether you are still shopping for summer items or want to get a jump on fall, check back here for my picks. If you are interested in something I’ve not listed, you can still click-through to the sale using my links. There is no extra cost to you, and it really helps me keep this site running. I so appreciate the support!!
I will be checking out this sale for basic closet staples. I don’t like to shop for trends too far ahead, and I don’t typically spend too much money on really trendy pieces. Even for closet staples, I always look for the best possible prices. I hardly ever spend over $100 for any one item. The only things I typically buy that may cost more are dresses for more formal occasions, winter coats, and boots that I can wear for many years. Even then, I try to find what I can for less!
For the Nordstrom Sale, I would first shop for Booties. I typically spend more on shoes. As much I want to get a bargain, you often get what you pay for, and I just have to have comfortable shoes. I really think these Open Toe Booties are cute and so are These. I will be checking to see if they are marked down to a better price tomorrow?!
Next, I love Cardigans! I wear these more than any fall/winter coat! I am always looking for the softest, most comfortable cardigan I can find! This Barefoot Dreams Circle Cardigan is calling my name! It is way more than I want to spend, and I am hoping they are included in the sale. This One is just under $100. I am hoping it is included too.
If you are in need of new Jeans, I would check out what denim is on sale too. I know a lot of women love premium denim. I think you will probably be able to find some really good deals. At this point, I just can’t spend that much on jeans! I’ve found jeans for less that I really like! In fact, these Articles Of Society Jeans are on sale right now for an excellent price! Their jeans are so soft and comfortable – my favorite jeans right now. It also looks like cropped jeans will still be around for fall.
If you love Handbags, don’t forget to check those out too. I’m sure they will also have a lot of Designer Brands included.
Finally, I am planning to do a post on building a jewelry wardrobe. I thought I would wait until after tomorrow to publish this post and see what jewelry might be featured in this sale. If you are on a budget, you can find cute jewelry for less. I have a necklace from BP. that I wear all the time. Yes, it is not a high quality piece by any means, but it is sturdy. It has held up very well! Here is a similar One.
Here are some brands at Nordstrom that have low to moderate prices:
