I recently found this super soft t-shirt that I love at Gap. It is just the right weight for cool Fall weather. It’s not too thin, but also not too thick making it perfect for layering. I almost bought a second one in a different color. I am now regretting that I didn’t, because they were on sale at a great price!
These little black laced up flats are so cute. I’m seeing them in an assortment of colors too. I found these at a great price at T.J. Maxx. I tend to spend a little more on shoes, because I want to be comfortable if I will be wearing them all day! They are surprisingly comfortable for the price.
In fact, shoes are my favorite accessory! I LOVE shoes! I can remember my grandmother (who also loved shoes) sending me a cute red pair in the mail that she found on sale when I was in college. They were cute but hurt my feet so bad! I remember walking around campus trying to break those shoes in until finally I did! LOL! Now, I have no tolerance for that. They better be comfortable from the moment I first put them on my feet!
Hope you are having a wonderful day! Please keep reading as I continue sharing about dressing in God’s armor.
Dressing In God’s Armor – Part 2
Stand firm then, with belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. Ephesians 6:14-15
I’m sharing again today about dressing our souls in God’s armor. I love the image of God’s belt of truth. It surrounds us and holds us up when we can’t hold ourselves up. It is buckled tight around our waist and remains there. God and His Word are our truth. It is always there and is unchanging. He loves each one of us as His children and sent His Son so that we could live forever with Him.
Next, we wear the breastplate that protects our hearts. This same armor protects our hearts from our own thoughts of revenge and self-serving anger when attacked. It teaches us to love others, including our enemies. It teaches us to avoid sin. As we study God’s Word right now, we are learning what it means to be a righteous child of God. He is changing and filling our hearts with the way we should live. He fills our hearts with His love when we accept Christ, and the Holy Spirit enters us. His love in our hearts spills over for others.
God fits us with His full armor from our heads to our toes! Our feet are fitted with the comfort and peace of the Gospel. He provides all we need. We don’t have to worry when we have accepted Christ, because we have assurance of a relationship with God for eternity!
Notice that He gives us this with a readiness to boldly go share our faith in comfortable and uncomfortable ways and places. Such faith helps us to step out in the direction He would have us go and do so without fear. When we are presented with the Gospel, we are called to action in accepting it and following Christ. We are also called to share His love for us with others!
I am so thankful I have God’s armor protecting me in my life down to smallest details.
