I was going to share some drugstore makeup that is an all time favorite today, but it didn’t work out as expected. Let’s just say my pictures of the products didn’t turn out as expected! So, I have decided to do a short post on my favorite must have makeup brushes. This is a very pared down list of brushes – my absolute essentials!
Eyeshadow Brush | Eyeliner Brush | Eyeshadow Brush | Brow/Lash Brush | Powder Brush
If I could only pick four makeup brushes, these would be it! I’ve pictured an extra Eyeshadow Brush, because it is nice to have more than one of those. All of these are the must haves – I always pack these for trips. In fact, they are the ones I use every day no matter where I am.
I used to use the sponge applicator that came with the eyeshadow kits, but they just don’t do a great job of spreading and blending eyeshadow. So, I will always use an Eyeshadow Brush for powdered shadow. If I’m using a crème shadow, I like to use my fingertip for applying it. I also like to have a Eyeliner Brush on hand, but I don’t apply actual eyeliner with it (I usually use eyeliner pencils). Instead, I use the eyeliner brush to apply powdered eyeshadow as an eyeliner.
One time, I remember forgetting to pack my Brow/Lash Brush for a trip. I thought it was the end of the world until I realized I could just stop in a store and pick up another one. LOL Have you ever done that in the stress of getting ready to travel?!
A good big Powder Brush is also essential for someone with oily skin like myself. I would have included a brush for applying blush, but I’m using this Crème Blush that I love now. I just dot it on with my fingertips.
I didn’t include a foundation brush, because I use a Beauty Blender or my fingertips for applying it.
I also always use an Eyelash Curler. It is an essential tool for me, but not a brush – so I didn’t include it here. Ha!
What are your must have makeup brushes?
Thanks for reading today. I did just get another post out this week as I am enjoying a last-minute vacation with my oldest son. I won’t be posting tomorrow, but will hopefully get back on my regular schedule next week.
I really like the ELF brushes also.
They hold up great for the price!!
