I am updating a post from last year on my favorite sunscreens. In fact, I shared on this topic at the end of the last summer. Ha! This year my timing is much more appropriate – at the beginning of the season. We are also starting to see some beautiful warm weather here in Indiana too. Finally!!
Plus, I had all of last summer – probably several seasons – to really test out these sunscreens, and they do not disappoint. They offer great protection from the sun’s harsh rays, and I will definitely be using these again this summer! These sunscreens are also amazing choices if you have sensitive skin like I do!
Whether travelling or staying close to home, we know at this stage in life how important it is to use sunscreen when outdoors. I wish so much I had paid closer attention to my skin and time in the sun when I was younger! Do you remember the days of laying out in the sun solely for getting a tan? And later, going to the tanning bed?
I’ve always had fair skin but wished so much for that beautiful bronze tan in my younger days. Of course, laying out in the sun trying to tan only led to nasty burns for me.
If only back then, we realized how bad all of that was for our skin!
CeraVe Hydrating Sunscreen
If you’ve been reading my blog for awhile, you know I love CeraVe products. So of course, I love CeraVe’s sunscreen too.
I usually reach for this sunscreen first when going outdoors – I probably use it the most of the two sunscreens I’m sharing today. It is not greasy and doesn’t break out my skin, and yes, I do get zits occasionally at 51!
CeraVe also makes a sunscreen specifically for your face that I like just as well. Yet honestly, I think the one for your body works perfectly fine for your face too.
Aveeno Natural Protection Sunscreen
The other sunscreen I will reach for this summer is Aveeno Natural Protection Sunscreen. I found it to be very similar to the CeraVe sunscreen for being non greasy and not breaking out my skin. Aveeno’s products also cater to those of us who have sensitive skin.
In fact, I’ve always liked Aveeno lotions and should review more of their skincare products sometime here on the blog!
Last, but certainly not least, I want to mention Clinique’s Moisture Surge Sheer Tint Hydrator. While it’s not specifically marketed as a sunscreen for your face, it does have a SPF of 25. I recently ran across this tinted moisturizer and remembered how much I loved using this product in the summer!! I need to purchase it again.
This tinted moisturizer provides just a little light-weight natural coverage on my face to even out my ruddy skin tone when outdoors. Plus, it’s resistant to sweat and humidity. It hydrated my skin without breaking it out too. I used to keep this product in my beach bag!
If you are wanting to abandon your medium to heavy foundation for the hot summer months, give this tinted moisturizer a try!
