I have a wonderful eye makeup palette to share today for those of us who have sensitive eyes and those of us who don’t. Ha! A little over a year ago, I started having some trouble with my eyes. Y’all who read my blog regularly know I deal with sensitive skin. So, it shouldn’t be any surprise that my eyes decided to give me some trouble too!
My eyelids were red and flaky. It would not go away. I made an eye doctor appointment right as everything started shutting down last year – yeah, not so great timing! Thankfully, I didn’t have an eye infection. Instead, this can happen sometimes when you have rosacea and has to be managed.
I went home with over counter eye drops, special eye wipes for removing my makeup, and an eye mask that had to be worn over my eyes every evening. My eyes got a spa treatment every night until it cleared up!
This past winter it started to flare up a little bit again, and I decided the eye makeup I was using was not helping. At that point, I thought about returning to using Burt’s Bees shadows. I highly recommend their eye makeup for sensitive eyes. I just really wish they would make more colors! So, I went on a search for other brands with more color choices.
I ultimately decided to try Tarte’s Amazonian Clay Matte Palette. I absolutely love this palette – it’s now part of my daily makeup routine! Tarte is also having a really good sale this week with free shipping, and this eye makeup palette is included!
Popular Tarte Makeup Products
I was already familiar with Tarte as I had heard a lot of great things about their original shape tape concealer. Now, they have a new ultra creamy shape tape concealer for mature skin. I also knew their eye palettes were very popular along with their mascaras.
What I have since learned is that they make their makeup products without parabens, mineral oil, phthalates, triclosan, sodium lauryl sulfate, and gluten. They also list on their website all of the ingredients that they do use in each product. This is really helpful for those of us who have really sensitive skin and eyes.
This eye makeup palette has really helped me with managing my sensitive eye issue!
All of the colors in each row of this eye palette were created to coordinate with one another for different eye looks. However, you certainly don’t have to work within just one row of colors when doing your eye makeup. I don’t! In fact, I find most all these colors work beautifully together!
Another great thing about this palette is all of the colors are also matte for those of you who don’t like to wear metallic or glittery eyeshadows.
While many eye shadow palettes tend to be huge and bulky, this one is reasonably sized and would pack easily in your travel bag. You could also leave your eye liner pencils at home. I now line my eyes with the darker shades in this palette.
The colors are super easy to work with and blend really well too. While you get a lot of product with this eye palette (I feel like it will last forever even with regular use!), I’m tempted to buy an extra one in these shades while it’s on sale.
I also want to quickly mention these makeup brushes. They are some of the best I’ve ever used!! I like their makeup sponges but love their makeup brushes even more! They really pick up a lot of product and do a great job when applying and blending. I’ve pretty much used cheaper makeup brushes for years – what a difference these make!
