I’m a little late to the party regarding Valentine’s Day this year, but that’s nothing new! However, if you have some last minute plans for the holiday, I have a last minute Valentine’s Day outfit that you probably already have in your closet.
I’m not really big into Valentine’s Day. My wedding anniversary is in January too, and we usually do a big celebration then. Yet, what’s funny is I’m always smitten with all the cute clothes that come out in honor of the holiday. Even now as I’m getting older, I just love all the heart motifs and anything red or pink.
I window shop online looking at all the Valentine’s Day attire thinking I might grab something for myself. And I really never end up purchasing anything. Then, if something comes up or we decide to go out for a special dinner, I’m trying to come up with something a little bit festive.
So, today’s look is just an easy, casual idea that gives a little nod to the holiday. Plus, it’s also what I do when needing something very last minute.
If I don’t currently have a red or pink winter top or sweater, I start with classic black. Since I stick to wearing jeans most of the time (we’re not that fancy!), a black sweater or blouse levels up your outfit.
This blouse was one of my best buys last year! I have it in winter white too. It’s a great closet staple that can be worn with anything. This blouse comes in regular sizes and petite sizes. I’m wearing a medium petite size. I will wear it now thru spring.
When picking out a pair of jeans to wear on date night, I go for my favorite pair in the darkest wash I own. Darker jeans look a little more dressy. These bootcut jeans are wonderfully comfortable and fit amazingly. Plus, I couldn’t get over how my petite legs look so long in these jeans!
Next, I add some pretty jewelry. Also, please overlook how red I look in these pictures. My name is Dianna, and I do have rosacea and hot flashes!
I had to throw a little heart in this outfit somewhere! I probably could have layered another longer necklace with it looking at these pictures, but I like things simple. My photos don’t do this pretty Kendra Scott necklace justice either! It’s so gorgeous in person.
While any jewelry with hearts would be nice, you could also wear any piece that has pink or red colors. Otherwise, I would put on classic silver and/or gold.
Next, I have to show you this fabulous handbag.
Look at me, and who is this girl! I’m usually not very giddy over a handbag (usually it’s shoes for me). But I decided I wanted a nicer handbag for Christmas. So, my sweet husband surprised me with this beautiful soft leather crossbody bag. I just love it!
It’s the perfect size for someone like me whose on the petite side. I don’t carry a lot around with me too, so it holds everything I need.
Now to finish this look, pull out that red coat you wore all through the holidays.
Here’s where I added a big splash of color – traditional Valentine’s Day style. A pink coat or jacket would work too for this occasion. Honestly, I wear this great red coat all winter long!
Dressed in Faith
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,

My husband and I do a Valentine’s day lunch to a restaurant since it’s a bit quieter at lunch. Your outfit is perfect for that. You look fabulous. Especially love the red coat! Happy Valentine’s Day!
That’s sounds like a lovely Valentine’s date. And thank you! I do love that coat!
