How often do I leave God completely out of all the decisions that I may make on any given day?! Probably, I do this far too much. It’s so easy to go about our days that are uneventful and peaceful feeling very self-reliant. Many times, I’m usually making small decisions and dealing with minor issues. So, I feel kind of silly asking God for guidance in what seems to be such unimportant matters.
Yet, asking God for wisdom and really listening to Him in the simple things is just as important as in things that are much more complicated. I know sometimes my simple decisions made unwisely have snowballed into something much bigger than I ever anticipated!
This past Sunday, my pastor’s sermon was focused in the book of Proverbs. He spoke about the wisdom of giving your whole heart to God. I had to ask myself if I’m really doing this day to day! Sometimes, I tend to seek wisdom and answers from other people or the world about day to day decisions instead of asking God.
It’s so easy to turn to social media first seeking approval for what we do with our days. I sometimes make daily decisions trying to model my life after someone else rather than modeling myself after Christ. Sometimes, it’s the quest for money, riches, or things that drives our decision making.
The holiday shopping season can be especially hard – even just the busyness of life at this time of year. I know I have to stop and remind myself of the reason we have Christmas in the first place!
Ladies, join me in committing to give God everything in our days. I want to give Him my whole heart not just small parts of it. You and I are so precious to Him. He wants to act, move, and be with us in the nothing much and in the something big. I am thankful that He cares about us each that much!
