Hello and welcome to Dressed in Faith today! I’m sharing a few fall 2021 fashion trends, and this is always a fun post! By the season’s end, it’s interesting to see what predicted trends were actually a hit, and what trends got left behind. I will say that it was hard finding some of these items. When I did track down a few, they were already out of stock! So, does that mean they will be a hit this year?
Of course, I’m afraid that doesn’t help you very much if you see something here you like and the inventory is low. Plus, it’s still summer, and this is all new fall stuff?! I sure hope that inventory will improve by the time cool weather arrives and that some items will restock by the time you read this post.
Now, let’s look at some of the trends!
Saturated Colors
I’m seeing everywhere that saturated colors will be trending for fall. In other words, we’ll see lots of bold, bright, beautiful colors! Typically, fall clothing comes in darker colors and leans towards lots of neutrals. While neutrals are classic, don’t be afraid to add some fun bright colors to your fall wardrobe too.
Oversized Button Down Shirts
Oversized button down shirts were popular in the spring, and it looks like they are trending for fall. These are not limited to your classic white or blue or striped shirts though. Oversized plaid shirts are included too.
Tailored Vests & Sweater vests
Vests are supposed to be very on trend this year. I had a hard time finding many, and what I did find was very low in inventory! Maybe, this indicates this trend is already well received?
Loose Jeans
I’m sure you are aware that loose fitting jeans are trending now. Plus, there are tons of different styles out there too. You can find straight, slim straight, 90’s style jeans, wide-leg, flare, and bootcut jeans. Skinny jeans still are around too. Frankly, I really wish all styles of jeans would stick around like this. Don’t you? We ladies like choices, and not every style fits every body type!
If you can’t decide what type of jean style to invest in this fall, I would say start with a classic straight leg jean though.
Clogs
Okay, I have a confession to make. I still have some Born clogs in my closet from a little more than a dozen years ago! I wore these exclusively for years with socks in the winter, and they were so comfortable! I’m waiting to see if my older ones will look modern enough this fall to wear. I’m not sure as many I see have an updated block heel.
Lug Sole Boots
This last big trend I want to talk about is lug sole boots. Most of my selections below are actually called Chelsea boots. Chelsea boots come up a little higher than the booties of years past. They are also narrower for fitting under looser fitting jeans. And, all of these also have that trendy lug sole.
Some other trends coming for fall/winter this year are cutouts in clothing, oversized outerwear, and knee high boots.
I am sure there are more that I didn’t cover here. I used to try to include every new trend I found in these posts, evenly the really outrageous ones. Now however, I just try to cover the ones that I think are more practical and wearable for everyday.
Let me know what you are looking most forward to wearing this fall!
