We all go through times when it seems to rain one problem after the other – a season in the valley. Sometimes they are short and others times they last for years. These valleys can be full of small irritating annoyances or huge life altering challenges. Lately, I’m sure we are all feeling like we are living in a valley.
While I pray continually that God will just take me out of the valley, sometimes relief doesn’t come as soon as I would like. While I don’t understand why so many problems have to come at once or why one may last so long, here are some things I try to remember.
I know I can always trust and depend on the Lord – that is the only thing I really need to understand.
I can use this time to increase my faith, because He will get me through it.
I will let my troubles expand my witness of His goodness and glory.
I will appreciate and not take the good times for granted. Plus, I will not forget to pursue my relationship with Him when everything is going well.
If it is to train me or discipline me, I will accept it, learn from it, and know it is for my good. He is a loving Father who trains His children in the way they should go. Hebrews 12:5-7
I will hold on to the complete joy and salvation I have in Christ.
Instead of looking at these seasons as holding me back in life, I will look at how they can propel me forward. They teach me perseverance in my faith and persistence in traveling the path God has placed before me.
As I walk with Christ through this life, I want to become everything He wants me to be – mature, complete, and lacking nothing as I serve Him!
Dressed in Faith
Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you maybe mature and complete, not lacking anything.
James 1:2-4
So true! We often complain about our trials and troubles but forget that God uses those to teach us and make us stronger. And we may not find out the reason why we go through something until we see Him in heaven, but we know that “every good thing comes from the Father above”.
Yes! Trusting and having faith above understanding why.
