Today’s post is a little embarrassing, because I’m talking about my nails. My nails are nothing to brag about!! What makes it worse is that they are not looking so great lately! So in an effort to try to fix their appearance, I recently bought Sally Hansen Color Therapy Nail & Cuticle Oil.
Before I get to any pictures, let me just say that I do not have my nails done professionally. I probably should since I’m not good at doing them myself! Plus, my nails take a beating most days due to household chores. Trying to keep polish on my fingernails just does not jive with my daily routine. I’ve heard that getting a gel manicure holds up to that, but it’s just not in my budget right now to keep up with regular manicures.
While I feel like everyone I know gets their nails done professionally, I am sure some of you out there may be in the same boat that I am?!
Now that that’s out of the way, here is my review of this nail and cuticle oil.
First, let me give a little back story as to how I ended up trying this nail and cuticle oil. I usually do paint my toenails during sandal season. I have much better luck getting polish to stay on my toenails! Several seasons ago, I discovered Sally Hansen Color Therapy Nail Polish. It has argon oil, and I loved how it nourished my nails.
Normally after wearing lots of nail polish in the summer, it starts to take a toll on my toenails. With this nail polish, there was a noticeable difference in the look and health of my nails when I took it off!
Last year, I decided to switch up my nail polish which ended up being a big mistake for me! My toenails looked horrible at the end of the summer season. Also, I’ve recently noticed a lot of changes in my fingernails too. They are dry and brittle. They’ve never been very strong, though!
Then, I discovered this Sally Hansen Color Therapy Nail & Cuticle Oil. I knew I had to try it since I had been really happy with that brand of nail polish.
I really like this oil. I think using it improves the apearance of my nails. I will apply it and let it soak in for a while before rinsing it off. My pictures show my nails with the oil applied. I didn’t get a picture after rinsing. Again, my nails aren’t my greatest asset, but this oil does help!
This oil is definitely worth giving a try. Of course, it’s not a one and done kind of thing. After lots of housework or handwashing, you have to reapply much like you have to reapply lotion to your hands.
So, do you get your nails done at a salon or do them at home? Do you have a favorite nail polish? I am thinking about checking out some of the drug store gel polishes for an upcoming post. Plus, it would be great to be able to do a home manicure with polish that will stay on for a few days. Let me know what you think!
