Today, I have another beauty review featuring the Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior 2-in-1 Plumping Moisturizer + Serum. I have been using it for a couple of months and wanted to compare it to the Olay Regenerist Cream that I also use.

While I was helping my Dad go through some of my mom’s things after her passing, I found these Kate Somerville products she had recently purchased. My mom loved shopping for makeup, skin care, and beauty products as much as I like shopping for clothes. I think Ulta was probably her favorite store! She was always trying something new, and these looked like her latest finds.
When I was younger, I used to give her a hard time for having so many beauty products. Now that I’m older, I’ve come to appreciate her influence on me when it comes to taking care of my skin. So, I decided to try these Kate Somerville products that were in her beauty bag to see what I thought.
The Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior Moisturizer is pretty pricey, so I was hoping I wouldn’t like it?! Well, I actually do. It is a light moisturizer with a pleasant scent. Some criticisms I found in reviews of it online suggest it is not moisturizing enough. Maybe, that is why I liked it – I have more normal to oily skin. In fact, there is even a Kate Somerville Breakout Fighters Set if you have trouble with acne. Plus, she has an Oil Free Moisturizer. There are also quite a few hydrating eye creams and moisturizers that I included in the Shop The Post section below if you have really dry skin.
My go to anti-wrinkle cream of late has been the Olay Regenerist Cream. To compare the two products, I would use one in the morning and the other one at night. I still love the Olay Regenerist and found it to have a little bit of an edge over the Kate Somerville Wrinkle Warrior for most moisturizing. Since the Olay product is so much more budget friendly, I will be sticking with it for now.
Unfortunately, there is no miracle product out there that will completely eliminate all our wrinkles or keep us looking like we did in our 20’s. Yet, one thing my sister and I did notice was how young and beautiful my mom’s skin looked at almost age 74. So, what was her secret?
I believe it was not any one product, because she was always trying something new. I think it was because she consistently took care of her skin. She had a morning and nighttime skin routine. She also always kept her skin well moisturized and protected it from the sun too. I think these habits alone are key to having your best possible skin.
I ve tested hundreds of skincare products as a beauty editor and this facial exfoliator is still my favorite — I ve been using it for over a decade
