There are so many choices when it comes to shampoos and conditioners. They range from the very inexpensive to the very expensive. Some have more natural ingredients than others. Plus, there are shampoos and conditioners for all types of hair. I would love to do a huge review showcasing the best shampoos and conditioners, but right now that task seems overwhelming with so many options! In the meantime, I will share with you a good shampoo and conditioner I use and really like.
TRESemme Botanique Damage Recovery Shampoo
TRESemme Botanique Damage Recovery Conditioner
I have used TRESemme shampoos for as long as I can remember. So at the beginning of this year, I decided to change it up and see if there were other shampoos I would like just as well – bad idea. The new brand I decided to try was terrible in comparison to TRESemme.
My hair tends to be like my skin which is oily (though my skin has changed some – see this Post). The new shampoo was just too moisturizing or hydrating for my scalp. At the same time, my hair looked kind of dry and frizzy on the ends. It was weird – my husband even noticed it. Therefore, I decided to go back to TRESemme.
While I want something that won’t make my scalp too oily, I need something that’s gentle for the rest of my hair. I color my hair and use a hair dryer every day. Yes, I have to wash my hair every single day! When I was younger if I didn’t, my bangs would look like they had been dipped in car oil. LOL Now, it’s not quite that bad, but I sweat all the time due to hot flashes. It feels as if I sleep in a sauna every night. Then, I work up a sweat with exercise in the mornings. So, I have to wash my hair.
Before I changed shampoos, I had used this TRESemme Shampoo and Conditioner, but couldn’t find it at my store. So, I decided to try this Shampoo and Conditioner. Even though I didn’t think my hair was too damaged, it couldn’t hurt to use them. Well, I am glad I did! I notice a real difference in how my hair looks and feels.
TRESemme also makes this Shampoo/Conditioner for curly hair and this Shampoo/Conditioner for fine hair.
Before they came out with these natural formulas, I used this Shampoo/Conditioner for color treated hair for years. Honestly, I can’t tell a difference between using the TRESemme color treated shampoo and their other shampoos. My color seems to hold up pretty much the same no matter which shampoo I’m using. However, I do get my hair colored often to cover up the grays.
Do you have a great shampoo recommendation?
