Usually the winter months seem to drag along slowly but not this year. At least it seems that way to me! How about you? I am so glad it is now March, and we can start talking about spring fashions! What will be even better is when we can start wearing them!
Today, I want to begin by talking about a big spring style trend this year – puff sleeves.
I bought this cute light pink Ann Taylor top (same top here in grey) back during the holidays knowing I would wear it into the spring. The first time I wore it, my husband asked if I was trying to go back and live in the 8o’s. Haha!
Of course, this iconic sleeve has been around for centuries. It did take off in popularity in the 1980’s, I’m sure due in part to Princess Diana’s wedding gown with it’s exaggerated puff sleeves.
Most body types can wear these sleeves in some form – puff sleeves can be big and bold or soft and subtle. They can help balance out your proportions if you have narrow shoulders or are pear shaped.
While my top in light pink has since sold out, it is still available in a light grey color. This top is actually called a sweatshirt on the website, and I find it very comfortable like a sweatshirt would be. Yet, this material doesn’t feel like the kind you find in a typical sweatshirt. I think it is dressier than that.
I’ve got lots of puff sleeve options for spring to share. You’ll see this trend in long sleeve tops, short sleeves tops, and dresses.

What do you think about puff sleeves?
As always with fashion trends, my philosophy is wear what you like and don’t wear what you don’t like even if it’s popular. While puff sleeves are the trend of the moment, they have certainly been around awhile. So, they are actually a classic design that has and will continue to last through the ages.
