My devotional today focuses on gaining confidence. Sometimes, I struggle with gaining confidence in who I was created to be. How about you? This is something I have to work on daily too!
The world tries to tell us that confidence comes from only relying on ourselves. Yet, this same world we live in is quick to destroy our confidence! We are often told we are not good enough or successful enough. The world compares us and pits us against each other to see if we truly measure up. Mistakes we make are not easily forgiven or forgotten. The world holds a narrow view of what true beauty looks like.
I know, though, that true confidence in who I am comes from the Lord and what He says about me. Here are some verses to help us gain confidence.
We gain confidence by knowing we can approach God freely, ask Him anything, and that He hears our requests. Ephesians 3:12, 1 John 15:14
Confidence comes from knowing with God as our defender that we don’t have to be afraid. Hebrews 13:6
Our confidence builds from knowing Christ shows us mercy and forgiveness. Hebrew 10:19, Hebrews 4:16
We can be confident in God’s love for us by the gift of His Son and the Holy Spirit. 1 John 4:17
We gain confidence in knowing we were designed by the Master of the universe. Ephesians 2:10
Finally, I want to share a quote I recently read in the footnotes the NIV Life Application Bible.
“The worth and meaning of life is not based on what we feel, but the one reality no one can take away — God’s love for us.”
Dear friends, you are each a loved and priceless child of God. Don’t let your feelings or someone else ever make you think otherwise!
Dressed in Faith
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.
Hebrews 11:1
Thank you Dianna. I love your devotional and needed to be reminded of this today. God’s truth shines through you to your readers. God bless you for sharing.
Thank you Pam for your sweet comment. It means so much!
Love this! I often struggle with remembering that! I tend to let other’s opinions of me define me and I have to make a conscious effort to look at myself through Gods eyes. Thank you! I enjoy your posts and look forward to them.
