Spring is supposed to come early this year – let’s hope so anyway! So today, I’m sharing 5 wearable fashion trends for spring. Many of these are nothing groundbreaking! We’ve seen these trends ebb and flow for years. I’m certainly okay with that since many fit nicely into my more modern classic style.
One of the hot trends I didn’t include in this post is the denim trend since I dedicated a whole separate post on it last week. If you missed it, you can read about the denim trend here that’s showing up in a lot more than just jeans.
While I certainly saw more than just 5 wearable fashion trends for spring, I didn’t list here the ones that we are continuing to see from last spring and fall. Then, there are other newer trends I found while researching the topic that just aren’t showing up in stores yet. However, it’s still very early. So, I’ll try to post on any newer ones I see as retailers continue to get more spring inventory.
Stripes
Stripes are nothing new, but they are everywhere for spring. They also must be the most popular trend for spring, because there is no shortage of this pattern in clothing.
Polka Dots
I really like polka dots, but like stripes, they often circle around pretty regularly every few years. So, I didn’t intend on giving them a spot on this list in favor of something different. However, I opened up Ann Taylor’s website and found lots of polka dots. So, this trend earned a top spot on the list.
Knots
One of the popular fashion themes on the horizon is preppy clothing making an appearance again. I’ve noticed lately many ads feature models wearing sweaters tied around the shoulders like the one above. The heavy knotted look is not just limited to tying your sweater around your shoulders or waist though. Jewelry is a popular place you’ll see it as well as on handbags and dresses.
Cuffed Jeans
Cuffed jeans might be one of the more controversial fashion trends! It seems women either love it or hate it. Plus, I understand why so many petite women do not like it, especially the very wide cuffs that are trending. However, I personally don’t hate it. For whatever reason, I’ve just never worried about my legs looking stubby even though I’m short.
I think I like the functionality of it, because I’ve found lots of great fitting jeans in the past that were just a tad long. So, it’s sometimes easier to do an appropriately sized cuff than have it hemmed or even try to cut a raw edge yourself. Plus, keeping the length might make the jeans more versatile for wearing with different types of shoes. Of course, this is just my opinion – you do what makes you feel best!
If you are petite and like this look, I would encourage you to play around with this style before dismissing it altogether. The great thing is that it doesn’t have to cost a dime. Just take a pair of jeans you already own and try cuffing them.
I’ve thought about doing a separate post on this fashion trend for petites. Let me know if this is something you might be interested in seeing.
Slingbacks
Finally, the last trend I’m featuring is one that did make an appearance last year, but so many lists are mentioning it for spring 2024. So, I felt it deserved a place here. When I think of slingbacks, I tend to think of dressier shoes, and that’s what a lot of the ones below are. But, they don’t necessarily have to be formal footwear. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in casual looks as we get closer to spring.
Dressed in Faith
And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.
