Today, I’m sharing 5 beauty products I’m loving lately. It’s been awhile since I’ve done a beauty post! I tend to be very brand loyal. In other words, when I find a beauty product I love and that really works well, I stick with it! However, I’ve tried a few new to me products as of late that are really good.
I also have really wanted to post my everyday makeup look this summer. Yet every time I plan to take pictures for it, my face breaks out. So, I really don’t want to get a closeup of that! You would think in my fifties that acne wouldn’t be an issue, but thanks to rosacea, it is at times. I apply medication to control it with a lot of success but occasionally get flareups. And lately, I just can’t seem to keep my skin clear!
This has caused me to rethink a few of my makeup choices this summer, and I have included what I’ve switched to below in the 5 beauty products I’m loving lately.
5 Beauty Products I’m Loving Lately
Tarte Maneater Mascara – I have really loved using this mascara! It does a great job of lengthening your lashes making your eyes look fabulous. I’m a big fan of Tarte’s clean beauty products. This 2020 Allure Beauty Award winner comes in both black and brown.
OPI Infinite Shine Nail Polish Princesses’ Rule – This is a really pretty nude light pink shade for summer that I’ve been wearing on my toes. I recently picked up this darker berry color that will be pretty to wear as we head into fall.
Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum – This smoothing serum helps control frizz, and I use it whether I wear my hair straight or curl it. What I love best is it helps cut down some of the time spent blow drying my thick hair!
Clinique Even Better Makeup – You know I love Clinique products, and the Even Better line is one I have shared many times before. I started out using Clinique Even Better Glow Light Reflecting makeup many years ago but have switched to just the Even Better foundation.
If you have dryer skin and like a dewy look, the Even Better Glow Light Reflecting makeup is a great option. When I first started using it, I think I felt like my skin was starting to get dull. As I mentioned earlier, I am now having trouble with breakouts. Plus, My skin can get oily looking quickly in the hot weather, so I decided to switch to the regular version. It has more of a matte finish, and I like it.
I did shop around and research good foundations for normal to oily skin with rosacea. I found some other good options but finally decided to stay with Clinique’s Even Better makeup. You just can’t beat the value – it lasts a long time, and it has sunscreen and stays on very well in the heat and humidity. There have been many days that I’ve been out in the sun melting, and this foundation has stayed in place!
Tarte Shape Tape Concealer – I started using Tarte eyes products several years ago but had never tried their famous Shape Tape concealer. Well, I must agree with the thousands of women who use this product! It is an excellent concealer for undereye circles and facial imperfections too.
Some have complained that the original Shape Tape can be a bit drying. I have not found that to be a problem. They do make a creamy version that might be worth checking out if you have really dry skin.
